Memoirs Of An Ex-Nun: Sweet Surrender

This is about the author's personal journey of faith. As a young woman, fresh from college, she entered the doors of the cloistered life in the early 80's when many foreign religious orders were at the peak of their recruitment of young women to join them in her homeland. This story depicts her personal experience, the struggles, the triumphs as well as the failures of conforming to a way of life which she believed formed her character and strengthened her own faith in God. As the years passed by she thought this experience would just be forgotten. But she was mistaken- to confront her own fears that the past was not a catastrophic failure of her faith but was a tremendous challenge to hold and to claim that same faith, and to be continuously grateful for the privilege to be once a part of that "way of life". To work it out in a memoir for her own peace of mind and serenity of letting go is not an overnight work but an experience of a lifetime.
