The Black Thread

Drama and romance in this historical fiction story set on a Yorkshire canal in 1895. The Leeds & Liverpool Canal is a dark and dangerous place, but it's along the canal's bank that Amy Dodd runs to escape from her father. Given shelter by a bargee and his wife, and a young engineer from the woollen mill where she worked, she hides, but Amos Dodd pursues her relentlessly. After a chance encounter with a stranger, Amy is confronted with some shocking truths about her father. Compelled to learn more, she returns along the tow path to Leeds but in doing so steps straight back into the lion's den.
