In Search of Melissa Thayer: Reinvestigating the Trim Triple Homicide

Bucksport, Maine is well known for its views of Fort Knox and the new Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory. The town is also famous for its Historical Murder Mysteries. In my first book I have covered one of Maine's most famous Unsolved Murder Mysteries. The murder of Sarah Ware, which occurred in 1898. Before there was Ware, there was the Trim Triple Homicide. For 1876 it was the biggest murder case the young State had ever seen. I have attempted to record the true story behind the tragedy of the family that lost their lives and the trial of the Suspect, a Sea Captain named Edward Smith.
