April Plays with Spring: Draw-the-Picture Book

"I'm feeling springy now", April's mother says while bouncing around the playroom on a pogo stick. It is springtime and it has been raining for two weeks. April wants t play outside. She wants to play with spring, but until the rain subsides April's mother thinks of alternative ways to play with spring, such as rocking on a spring horse or bouncing on a springboard. It is a quick alternative to being outside but this kind of spring is not what April has in mind. "April Plays with Spring" is an early introduction to literal and figurative thinking. April's mother decides to succumb to the rain. They go outside in the downpours and literally play with spring. Once again, children become part of the story by drawing what they read. This is the second "Draw-the-Picture" book, inspired by Summer M. Nelson and written by Kathy Flanary Nelson.
