When a Sparrow Falls is a fictional story that offers intriguing insights into the world of dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder). Thanks to the other personalities inside her, Amanda is able to maintain a normal and productive life, completely unaware of her father's abuse and her mother's anger. Amanda manages to graduate college, land a great job, and fall in love. Just when her dreams are within reach, things go terribly wrong. In the span of a few hours, the insiders, who had remained hidden from her and others her entire life, are discovered and tragedy strikes. As each personality emerges, Tom and Amanda go through the emotional and frightening process of uncovering the truths from the past and their feelings for each other.
