Cruel Execution

When a popular mayor of New Orleans is found dead with his employees, questions linger as to who would want to hurt him. The investigators are faced with a more challenging task when a man steps forward to claim responsibility for the murders. With burdening pressure engulfing them, it seems easy to prosecute this individual who has all physical evidence on the crime scene pointing to him. Experience, on the other hand, betrays the lead investigator to look deeper. A deeper look reveals an intricate and broader chain of criminal activities that eventually results in the mayor's murder. A closer look reveals an innocent witness forced to take responsibility for the murders to save his daughter who is being held captive by the killer demanding him to take the punishment to save her life. The captain, bending to pressure, closes the case and the man who confesses is put on trial. After he pleads guilty to all charges and receives the death penalty, he waves his right to appeal and pleads to be executed immediately. Knowing that the moment the wishes of the real killer are met the daughter's life becomes useless to the killer, the race to save at least one of two lives intensifies for the investigators.
