The originals in the possession of the Commonwealth having been badly mutilated by searchers for untold fortunes, it ha; been deemed advisable to publish the entire record under tht authority of the State and the lists have been carefully com pared and collated. To make the same of permanent value c complete index of surnames is given. In some few cases, tht entire list of ship's passengers is preserved with the ages of all. (Jrginally these were furnished the proper authorities, but tin fortunatelv one bv one thev have been abstracted.
