It is important in life to have a measure of things. When we prepare to travel, we need to know the distance between our starting place and final destination. We need to know the temperature outside to know what clothing to wear. We need things measured. So, how do we measure the Christian life? There are many churches and many denominations with many differnt teachings about Jesus and the Christian life today. What do we use to measure them? They will each say they use the Bible. How do we know if they measure up? What kind of standard can we use? When Peter confessed that Jesus was the Christ, Jesus responded with an astonishing way by which to measure Christian discipleship. Jesus said, "take up your Cross and follow Me". This book is a layman's study of the Cross as the standard of the Christian confession.
