Black Street

Wall Street, racism, reverse racism, betrayal, love and romance are intertwined to chronicle the journey of Shane Jackson’s rise to power and influence as a managing director of the most prestigious trading desk on Wall Street. In his attempt to provide more job opportunities for African-Americans, he aspires to create the first all black trading desk on Wall Street. This story although fiction hits on some fundamental truths and is a revealing look at a person’s noble attempt to right what he perceives as years of wrongdoing. Shane's vision of the first all black trading desk on Wall Street faces an uphill battle and resistance from Junior the heir apparent to the executive director position over the trading desk, which is currently held by Junior's father Mr. Mackey. Black Street shows a young man in his drive to reach a vision, becomes blinded to the reality of life- that everything is not black and white but shades of gray. In his zealousness to pursue his dream he is haunted by his conscience about some decisions he made that may cost him his job, his friendships, and the love of his life.
