A QUESTION OF CLOSURE One evening, in the autumn of 1963, Meg Hutchinson walked down a driveway in a small Connecticut town and was never seen again. Over the next thirty-five years her mother, her best friend and her fiancé each developed ways to live with the unanswered questions and the perpetual anguish caused by her disappearance. But there was no way to fill or forget the hole torn in their lives. In the spring of 1998 her fiancé returns to the town his haunted memory has made him avoid for all those years and once again asks those old, anguished and never answered questions. Then he discovers someone else who is obsessed by the memory of Meg Hutchinson: the man who took her life. But that man is protected by the passage of all those years and the corruption and injustice that lurks beneath the surface of the seemingly idyllic town. Meg’s eighty year old mother and her fiancé realize that closure can only come through justice, no matter how long delayed. They manipulate a diverse group of unsuspecting people into helping them achieve that ultimate closure.
