Co-authors Barbara Fagan-Smith and Lesli Gee are communication and change management professionals who work with Fortune 500 leaders, helping them to articulate vision and direction, build strategic plans, improve communications, shape corporate culture, and streamline processes. As mothers and wives, they've discovered that many of their strategies apply just as successfully to family life, so they use them in their own homes as well. This led to the creation of Family ROI, an organization designed to strengthen families. At Family ROI weekend retreats, Barbara and Lesli teach families how to use strategic planning tools, culture building practices, and communication strategies to realize their best family and bring their dreams to fruition. In 2005, Barbara and Lesli conducted the first Family ROI weekend retreat in California. In 2007, the New Zealand Families Commission adopted the program and, today, it is being taught to families across that country by Te Puna Whaiora -Children's Health Camps - The New Zealand Foundation for Child and Family Health and Development.
