Description
Each of us is born into a family with parents, who we would like to think of as perfect, but who are, just as we are, vulnerable humans imbued with strengths as well as weaknesses. None of us experience a childhood that is idyllic, empty of any pain, hurt, disappointment. Some of us as we are growing up may have faced times within the family when we have experienced the pain of emotional neglect, physical or even sexual abuse. Some of us may have experienced being bullied at school or the death of a loved one and found ourselves alone -perhaps alone in all of these situations. Left on our own, we can only make sense of what has happened with the thinking of a child, a kind of thinking that leaves us believing there is something wrong with us, that we are the cause of the situation, that we are not good enough or even that we are not lovable. These conclusions that we think about ourselves, these ideas that we have about ourselves that we formed in childhood seem so incontestably real that we assume they are true. Unfortunately, as adults, we continue to think of ourselves in the same manner. Consequently, we continue to experience day-to-day living with a nagging sense of self-doubt, low self-esteem, shame or guilt. The gift of our healing model allows the reader to understand that it is not their past that negatively impacts their present but the conclusions and decisions that were made about the past that continue to operate in their present moments. By showing the reader how to make these distinctions, how to listen to their own inner voice, they have the opportunity to see their life through new lenses. They are able to have a view of their true self and experience with healing clarity who they have always been-unique, divine, a gift to themselves and others.
