When Death Takes Innocence: Lost Innocence...Children Taken Too Soon

Childhood is the time we are supposed to be the safest. It is the time in our lives we are vulnerable to the world but shielded by the ignorance and intentional acts of a cruel world and the predators that co-exist amongst us. When a child dies we are left to wonder why? Whether it is a natural death, we are left to wonder, what is natural about a child dying? But when someone intentionally robs the world of the innocent life of; an unborn child, an infant, a child or a teenager there is never a rhyme or reason why this happened and how did this happen. How do we come to understand how that a person living in our family, our neighborhood or in our lives can even do the unthinkable to these innocent children and not be sentenced to life without the chance of ever being free to reoffend again. Such predators do not deserve to ever be free to kill or harm another person in life, as innocence can never be given back and certainly never life once it is taken.
