Leda, a seventeen year old girl lives in a town tucked away in one of the few forests left in New York. She’s always had a strange bond with animals which has labeled her as a freak at school. What’s worse is her mute swan, Carl, has gone missing. Little does she know her abilities will send her on an adventure she’ll never forget. A jump over her back fence is a magical forest known as Spot Wood, home of pesky Gorgon-Snakes, alluring Sirens and more. Leda goes on a journey to stop an evil snapping turtle named Typhon from becoming king. She can't do it without the help of her best human friend, Ty, a Canadian goose, a pair of silly frogs and her loyal German Shepherd. Not to mention Carl, the mysterious "Great Swan" who gave Leda the power to talk to animals. It is said she gave him a gift that he could not give himself and no one else has ever thought to give. Could it be trust? Friendship? Or maybe a good belly rub?
