The Car Gene

The Car Gene is a collection of essays in which the writer, Dr. Bill Christie, DDS, shares his passion for the American automobile while growing up as a post-World War Two baby-boomer. Bill essays graphically describe how central the automobile was to the psyche of American youth as they grew through adolescence into adulthood. He vaildates the reality that for many youth of his era, there was indeed a "Car Gene" that was deeply embedded in the passion many young men had for the automobile.
