Description
It's 2005 and author Allan died from cancer just before his book A Killer’s Tale was published and became popular. Sam, a retired FBI agent, reads the book and becomes shocked to discover it contains clues to the identity of a serial killer called the October Slayer. This was the killer that got away during the 1960s when Sam was on the case. Sam tried to have the FBI reopen the case, but they won’t with so-called facts from a book. Sam’s still haunted by the fact that this killer murdered his best friends sister, so he decided to conduct his own investigation. Based on the book, the key to finding this killer is a wooden chest that contains evidence. It’s soon after he started his investigation, the author’s brother, Billy, became the prime suspect. Billy was also on the hunt for this wooden chest and started harassing Becky, Allan’s daughter, and Sam. Sam traveled in the Southeast in search of leads for the identification of this killer, and hopefully the location of this wooden chest. After Billy was arrested for attempting to kill Sam, the wooden chest was discovered in Allan’s attic but the evidence was gone. Sam believed this case would never be solved so he quit his investigation. Then after the wooden chest was accidently smashed, a piece of information was found that pointed to the location of the evidence. Sam located the evidence, as described in the book, and finally discovered the identity of the October Slayer. But Becky’s life took a turn for the worst when she learned the horrible secrets about her family.
