When you are writing a non-fiction (true) story the answers to these questions are facts (things that are true). A non-fiction story is when you are writing about something that really happened like if you are telling a story about what you did over the summer or if you are writing a history report about the presidents. When you answer the 5W&H questions for a non-fiction story, your answers have to be true. When you are writing a fiction (made-up or make-believe) story the answers to the 5W&H questions cannot be found in a book or by remembering what happened to you. You have to make the answers up in your head using your imagination.
