Pharaoh's Son (Memphis Cycle)

Pharaoh's Son, the third book of The Memphis Cycle, is set in Memphis in the 22nd year of the reign of Ramesses II.  Prince Khay, Ramesses' fourth son, is now High Priest of Ptah.  As he is marshalling a procession for one of the greatest feasts of the calendar, one of the colossal statues of his grandfather, King Seti , topples into the middle of the festival throng.  Khay finds some clues that show that the fall was not an accident.  The collapse of Seti's great pylon gateway within hours of the first disaster confirms his suspicions. 

Khay appeals to Pharaoh for help, which arrives in the person of his elder brother Hori, the Crown Prince, whose sharp intellect, courage and cunning are offset by a devastating bluntness. They begin  to realize that something great and terrible is hidden deep within the temple, something they must bring into the  light before those who walk in darkness take it and turn it to  evil.
