Saving the President
Description
Uncanny luck runs in Aaron Kaplan's family. Charging a machine gun or probing for a mine with his pocket knife, the Lt. Colonel survives and wins. So when the White House asks him to deal with a crisis involving Somali pirates, Vladimir Putin and an American cruise ship headed for the sunny shores of the Maldives, he's confident it will all work out.
His success leads to a secret request from America's first woman president, Margaret Massey. She asks him to track down a strange White House strategist who used a militia group to kidnap the country's leading bankers. But Aaron discovers the president may have authorized the kidnapping. At least the strategist claims she did, and he's got a recording to prove it.
In battle, Kaplan always knew which side he was on. Now he must choose between handing the recording to President Massey or Congress.
But revealing this evidence and getting the president thrown out of office could plunge a country already gripped by a double-dip recession into such chaos it might never recover.
This time all the luck in the world can't help Aaron decide the right thing to do.
