Psalms of the Earth: An Interactive Meditation is a collection of interfaith prayers written for individual worship and reflection, and for religious services as contemporary supplements for intercessory Prayers of the People. They call for the awareness that God's community includes not only humankind, but also the natural world, and asks the reader to recognize the irrevocable interconnection between the two. They are also celebratory and joyous in appreciation of nature as a reflection of the majesty and imagination of God. Narratives and meditations accompany the psalms which encourage the reader to write their own psalms, begin a spiritual journal, and offer a variety of ways in which the reader may become an active participant. The themes of these psalms are as old as the Word of God. They seek to renew our covenant with God and his directive in Genesis to care for and to keep the Earth as stewards, not despots, and to remind the reader that Christ teaches reconciliation with all of creation.
