Rainbow's End

Rainbow’s End is a romance novel complete with a puzzle and mystery involving several people with many twists and turns. Alexandra Peterson has spent her entire life in a small ocean side town in New England and is happy with her life as it is. She is satisfied with where she lives, her career as a librarian, with her home, which is the house she grew up in, and with her friends who have always been there for her throughout her life. She is an only child who was born late in her parents’ life, both who have passed on, her father six years ago and her mother four years ago. She had married a man that she truly loved and with whom she had a terrific marriage until a boating accident off the cape killed him. Alexandra buried herself in her career, in the town’s library, it became her salvation. Now, with the help of her long-time close friends, Lauren and Liza, Alexandra is emerging from her grief, ready to live again outside of the library and ready to love again. Suddenly three men appear in Seaside and in Alexandra’s life. Cameron, tall, blonde and divorced, returns after having moved away years earlier. Rob, handsome and friendly, shows up on her doorstep claiming to be a relative. Erich, cold, distant and dark, is from out of state, and moves into the house next door, the mansion on the cliff top that has had no residents for as long as Alexandra can remember. Her life intermixes with these three to different degrees, as they help her along her path to a new life. But is it a life she wants? Regardless, it is thrust upon her anyway. Needing some sudden extra funds, Alexandra discovers a family account that contains more than a million dollars. It turns out it is a small part of an old will, which is complicated, including many stipulations and conditions, and put together by a long ago ancestor. As the first born of the first born, she accepts the challenge because she believes it would be fun and interesting, but mostly because it is what her mother wanted. Immediately Alexandra enlists the help of her friends, both long time and new. It is not long before she is faced with the dangers of being the only living heir to a vast fortune. Among all the dangers for her and those around her, can Alexandra work out all the pieces to the inheritance? Can she discover love along the way? In the end, she could loose everything. Her tormentor, is someone close to her; someone who knows everything and who knows her well enough to lure her to the final moments.
