The Meta-Play Method: Application of the Dynamic Behavior Theory of Autism (Dbt-A)

While the number of children with autism grows and grows, what we know about the source of and the treatment for this complex disorder remains minimal. This book offers a new theory on how autism develops, suggesting that children with autism identify early with objects instead of people; a process that may be worsened by our cultural focus on objects. This books also offers information on new treatment strategies that combine applied behavior analysis, developmental theory, and analytic concepts. These strategies are easy to implement, and have shown encouraging results in pilot trials currently underway.
