This display ignited a multi dimensional career in science that took Shaw all over the world from his home base in Alaska. Join this irreverent scientist on a journey from the jungles of Africa to the light side of the moon, where an instrument he helped build still stands. Shaw’s driven-by-interest wanderings led him to discoveries from the deepest ocean (tiny creatures whose belches help cool the planet) to the top of the world, where Arctic Haze was a dirty mystery over one of the cleanest reaches of the planet. Shaw lives in Fairbanks, Alaska with his wife Gladys, a cat Oliver and an Australian Shepard Pierre.
