📖 Description
Mario Pastore, an Italian Jew imprisoned in a camp near Auschwitz in 1943, is mistakenly identified as a Seventh Day Adventist. He is detailed to work as the orderly in the home of the camp commander, Captain Schmidt, his wife Ingrid and their fragile daughter, Gretchen. Mario and Ingrid form an unlikely alliance as the Russian Army advances into Poland and the camp is abandoned by the Nazi's. Their friendship develops as they make their escape from the camp and the fury of Captain Schmidt. This a compelling story of friendship and trust born in the midst of brutality.
