Caryn: Galactic Archeologist

Caryn is the first of ten novels in the Saga of the MacDowells. Caryn's adventure takes place several thousand years in Earth's future, when small exploration teams are being sent throughout the galaxy to discover Ancient Artifacts - bits and pieces of technology from a civilization that predates humanity.
