Dave wrote about the things he and Marci experienced while sailing through the Eastern Caribbean in Godiva, their 42 foot catamaran. These newsletters have been compiled into his book, Godiva News. Here is an excerpt from one of the entries as they awaited the arrival of Marci’s cousin, Trudy: We waited for Trudy's arrival at the local watering hole in the marina at Pointe a Pitre. While I was trying to figure ways to get my newest crew dog seasick, Marci was planning our activities with her. Marci morphed into Martha Stewart and started her planning. "Tomorrow, we go shopping. The next day we go shopping. The day after that, we go shopping!" "Wait a minute," I said. "Can't we do other stuff?" "Like what?" Martha asked. "Like scrubbing the bottom. Like polishing the topsides. Like changing the oil in the engines. You know, stuff that Trudy doesn't get to do at home. Let's make this a challenging vacation full of excitement and hardship. Let's make this a vacation she will never forget!" I was stoked. "Are you nuts?" she replied. "I'll compromise. Trudy and I will go shopping tomorrow. You can stay on the boat and do that other stuff you talked about." So, the next day they went shopping and I got to do boat stuff. It was a very entertaining time.
