The Story Schemer

What hinges us to our particular, private reality? And what if we could, at will, lose our familiar self just as naturally as a snake slips off its skin? One humdrum day, Daniel - a mediocre man, a minor mammal - becomes unstuck from his rigid routine. An element entirely alien to his hitherto uneventful existence - in the form of an intercourse with his boss's wife - stirs him up. And when later his boss's tantalizing teenage daughter crosses Daniel's path, his life becomes ever more extreme. Addicted to his new, rousing reality, he does all he can to preserve it when it becomes endangered. This, however, embroils him in murky machinations with sinister figures, and sets him off to faraway lands.
