Sometimes the best things in life are the simple things. Ernie and the guys at the Iron Lake Fishing Club like to keep things simple and that applies to kitchen work, too. When a number of fans of “THE IRON LAKE FISHING CLUB” published in 2010 asked for more camp recipes he chose almost sixty favorites and cooking tips with more camp stories and some local color collected over several decades and put them together for folks in fishing and hunting camps to use and enjoy. These are “things that a man can cook with what’s in the cupboard and put a hot meal on the table when it’s too dark to fish” says Ernie. After reading the recipes, the kitchen tips and the KITCHEN STORIES you’ll feel as if you’ve had your feet under the table at the Iron Lake Fishing Club. This is a collection of recipes and kitchen ideas all wrapped up with tales and stories from the far north and the deep south. Everything from Yooper Venison Stew to Alligator is included along with tips to keep your cast iron in tip top shape and entertain the grand-kids on a rainy day. In the north they chill their beer in the lake and in Louisiana you can fry a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on the hood of your truck. So, pull up a chair, get something to drink and join the Club.
