Omar Nelson Bradley Centennial Commemorative

During the Second World War, America possessed the great military leaders needed to guide its armed forces successfully through that terrible ordeal. One of those legendary figures was Omar Nelson Bradley, General of the Army and first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This short biography, written by Dr. Charles E. Kirkpatrick originally published in 1992 in remembrance of the one hundredth anniversary of General Bradley's birth, gives us an opportunity to reflect on how military service has prepared so many Americans to contribute so much to the Nation and the world. Also included with this previously out of print text is "Mobilization", an essay on the evolution of the United States military's ability to deploy equipment and supplies for the fifteen million plus GI's who served bravely in the greatest global conflict ever.
