Calendar Curriculum

From the Author- Designed for children in Preschool to Third Grade, the Calendar Curriculum is ideal for early childhood educators and elementary school teachers in traditional classroom settings, homeschooling families with young children, and any parent who wishes to enrich their child’s learning by fostering their natural curiosities. By utilizing a calendar pocket chart (purchased separately) and this manual, teachers provide opportunities for children to be active and enthusiastic learners. The Calendar Curriculum ascribes to my personal educational philosophy of teachable moments (some planned, some spontaneous, all authentic) and has grown over the years to teach a vast range of subjects and skills without ever opening a workbook or teaching something to children that they cannot apply to their own lives. Everything is meaningful, interesting and enjoyable, and as a result, a deep degree of comprehension and love of learning is achieved. The topics are taught within context through authentic teachable moments, not with isolated, meaningless rote drills. The activities are cumulative and flexible, allowing the teacher to pick and choose, customize, expand, and progress based on the students’ needs.
