When Cloughie Managed England
Description
Brian Clough was 'the best manager the England team never had'. That's been said countless times about the brilliant, rude, outspoken, inspirational, enigmatic, football genius. In 1977, the Football Association had the chance to appoint Clough as manager of the England team but, perhaps, didn't have the nerve. 'When Cloughie Managed England' is a fan's often hilarious account of what might have been. Rick Crowe, an ardent Nottingham Forest fan since 1963, had the privilege of playing for the Derby County Youth Team when Brian Clough and Peter Taylor were in charge at the Baseball Ground. Clough and Taylor forgot to sign him to a professional contract - one of the few mistakes they made. Ah, well!
