A Cosmic Conspiracy

FBI senior agent Matt Brown lives a life ruled by facts, not faith or fantasy. An agnostic, he wastes no time debating the bigger mysteries of the universe, leaving heaven, hell, and the afterlife to people who have the time for such fairy tales. The day-to-day mysteries are all he really cares about-none more so than securing the last pieces of evidence he needs to finally arrest Senator Carl Keller and make it stick. After a long and daunting investigation, Agent Brown finally has the evidence to make an arrest and he can't wait to share the details with his partner. Today is their day-and then events take an unexpected turn: he dies. Seconds after he inserts the key into his vintage Lincoln, it explodes. Instantly, everything he understood ends, and much to his utter amazement . . . he doesn't cease to exist. He could never have predicted this new reality, where everything is simultaneously just like Earth . . . and utterly different too.
