My Child Has Autism: A Handbook for Parents and Professionals

Over the past few years millions of children across the world have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. A parent is told their child needs help but is usually not given a straight answer as to how to help their child. When a child is diagnosed with diabetes or asthma, their doctor tells the parents exactly how to help their child. Unfortunately this is not the case with autism. All too often parents are given a diagnosis and simply sent on their way. Other times parents are given a laundry list of various treatments and told to choose one or a combination of some but are given little if any detailed information about the various treatment options. This book will give parents the information they need to help their children. Rather than giving parents a list of various treatments that may or may not work, this book ONLY recommends research-based treatments and does so in a way that is parent-friendly and easy to understand – NOT dry and technical.
