Purna Vidya: Vedic Knowledge Text Book (Volume 11)

Purna Vidya is a twelve year program designed to provide a structured and developmentally based teaching of Vedic tradition and culture to children. Purna Vidya curriculum is used in several schools and communities in many countries. Vedic Knowledge Text Book is the eleventh of twelve parts in the Purna Vidya series of books. This volume contains as its subject matter a broad overview of the main branches of Knowledge that are recognized in Vedic Tradition. It outlines the eighteen fold branches of knowledge and provides the student with a overview of their subject matter and literature associated with it. Topics such as Vedas, six Vedangas, six Upangas, six Upavedas are explained. Topicx such as Architecture, Temple building, Forms of temple worship, Yoga, Poetry and Devotional literature along with many other topics that form the treasure house of Vedic literature and tradition are also introduced in this volume. Exercises are included in the form of topics and questions that stimulate independent thinking and group discussion. The text book is accompanied by a separate book, Guidelines for Vedic Knowledge meant for adults to teach this text with a well defined syllabus plan which can be utilized in classroom, group or individual basis.
