White Lights/Black Knights: Sophisticated Reality

WHITE LIGHTS/BLACK KNIGHTS reflects upon the continuum of ever persistent, never ending, subtle and sophisticated racial discrimination and prejudice existing in the United States of America and its debilitating effects upon minority populations, especially African Americans. The text examines subtle historical notions leading up to the inauguration of President Barack Obama, accompanied by hidden socio-political cultural movements, exemplified in stereotyping, branding, diminishing returns for excellence, community ethics, politics and religious racism, all exemplified through Korean images and the lack of role models and protectors for America's youth. Yet, in the midst of hopelessness, the zeal to remain free and unconquered overshadows attempts to subjugate minority populations who traditionally embrace the full meanings of liberty and justice for all.
