I remember, in the 1990s, I was about to explore the Internet. Then someone posted this thought: “friends you make online can be the best friends you will ever have.” And it has been so true that many of my friends today are the result of the Internet. Many, then, believed that the Internet would have been a short-lived, until Yahoo, AOL and other search engines burst out becoming the new way we get both information and knowledge. I am so grateful! Nowadays, we are experiencing brand-new ways of communicating with friends whom we may have completely forgotten. This is a new phenomenon of Social Networking. From “Hi5 to My Space," many have connected with love ones and shared information. However, it was done in more of a business fashion until you could actually upload your pictures to share with friends and family. We are now undergoing a new trend of connecting, networking and socializing. I want to call this the Facebook's phenomenon! GETTING SOCIAL is an account of distinct topics discussed on different Social Networks; mainly, Facebook. From sophisticated thoughts down to everyday talks, conversations can start very smooth then turn extremely hot.... From the meaning of Quisqueya to the implication of Bill Clinton in Haiti‘s internal affair, many have given opinions and some, scientific facts. I hope those conversations will enlighten us and burst the hidden fire that is hidden within to make the educational change that is required to raise Haitian values.
