Rock Art of the Upper Mojave Desert

For thousands of years man has wondered the Mojave Desert in search of food, water and spiritual enlightenment. The earliest known inhabitants left behind traces of their existence in the form of rock carvings, rock paintings and rock alignments. Nobody can give truly accurate accounts of their meanings, as this art form has been long lost and forgotten, even to the Native's living descendants. Death Valley Jim has logged countless hours exploring, studying and documenting the rock art sites in the upper Mojave Desert. What you will find within these pages are full color photographs of these locations. Commentary has been kept at a minimum to give you the viewer the opportunity to decipher this ancient art / language on your own.
