Vengeance & violence -- tragic factors in the advent of barbed wire to the western frontier.  They lead Sandhills cowman, Will Monroe, to seek his own brand of vengeance -- to murder farmer Amity Dinsen.  Despite pleas of his wife, friends and legal counsel, Monroe offers no defense for his action, saying it is for the judicial system to render justice for his act.
