The Ignorance of Me, Daphne Willowston

Daphne Willowston was ecstatic the day she got a job at the local daycare, Care in the Square, in the small lakeside town of Josephineville, Ohio. Daphne's mom is one of the top lawyers in the country, but her father is dead. Since high school began a year and a half ago, her ability to be optimistic about things really declined, thanks to a suddenly jealous best friend and suddenly absent boyfriend. Even though she doesn't quite admit it to herself, she sees this job as an opportunity to get her happiness back. On her first day of work, she meets Vee, a dark-haired girl who is kind but mysterious, and seems to be hiding a lot more than she is showing. She meets Decklin, and old red-haired childhood friend, who is kind, and seems to have everything in common with Daphne...except for the fact that he's happy all the time and she feels like she's never happy. But both Vee and Decklin have despairing secrets that are always threatening to penetrate their happiness. Daphne is about to discover the personalities and lives of everyone around her in ways she has never seen before...including the people she's close to, gets close to, or was close to at some point. When the kids at the daycare start telling Vee, Daphne, and Decklin about a man they saw outside the window and discover secrets of a disturbing encounter, they are unable to make sense of what is slowly happening within the walls of the daycare. But when people get hurt, when people are taken from them, when even more inexplicable events start to take place, everything they thought was a coincidence was not a coincidence at all...but a horrifying nightmare they couldn't even begin to imagine.
