Description
This is a book about chess openings that is unlike any other book in the world. We have developed a defensive system for Black that is based upon deep computer analysis of the best responses to White's best moves. Four years of pain-staking computer analysis conducted by the authors has proven 1. … e6 to be a highly robust and enormously flexible response to 1. d4. It will give you a superior advantage, and with knowledge of the best computer moves in all variations, your chance of winning or drawing is maximized. This book is intended to provide black a powerful defensive system against 1 d4. By spending thousands of hours using multiple chess engines to analyze similar positions, with computer against computer in each of the variations in this book, we believe we have found the moves with the fewest losses for black. Knowing the first computer moves that have almost no losses when the computer plays against computer, will give you a tremendous advantage over a human opponent. By memorizing the Best Response Chart you can be assured that your moves are sound. If your opponent makes a move that is not in the Best Response Chart, then you can take comfort in knowing that he or she did not respond with the best move possible. For your human opponent to win, they must find the best move possible. Other moves are more likely to draw or lose. To have a superior advantage over your opponent, play each game in this book to the limit and try to anticipate black's moves. Not only are the games thematic, but you will be astonished because the end games are fantastic. You will see how to win or draw in what looks like a lost position, and your end game knowledge will be greatly enhanced. Your chess knowledge will improve even if you are a Grand Master. Your advantage comes in memorizing the Best Response Chart and then playing through the games. Learn from the computer how it determines in each position the possible threats, makes moves that eliminate or minimize the threats, and then counter with the move that produces its best chance of winning. Why Play the Kangaroo Defense? The Kangaroo Defense (1 d4 e6) gives black a superior motif for attack and control of the center with an efficacious defensive system over other responses to 1 d4. As in many openings it can transpose into several different variations. In our book, the computer will show a better move for black in the first six moves, of such variations that gives black a more favorable result compared to moves recommended b y other opening books. See “Conclusions” at the end of this book. We believe that against 1 d4, the kangaroo response 1 … e6 provides black an opening repertoire that is easy to learn, easy to understand, and results in equality with winning opportunities.
