Political and Cultural History of Safavid State: Tarikh-i Siasy wa Farahangi-i Dowlat-i Safaviehe (Persian Edition)

Safavid Dynasty is very famous to both Iranians and non Iranians so that every body have more or less sufficient knowledge about this dynasty. To Iranian Safavid Dynasty is important because before the Shah Ishmael there was no central administration in Iran and in any parts of the country there were local statehood who were in quarrel with each other most of the time since in fact after the dead of Tamerlane his legacy felt apart and day by day became weaker and weaker so that the vacuum of a centralized power led to a semi-anarchy in the country. At this juncture the Ishmael who was though young but was very clever who realized that only by creating the zeal of nationalism he would be able to unify Iranians. Then he rightly focused his effort on two very important elements of a national state; language and religion the elements that were very important to Iranians. Ishmael though was not belonging to majority Persian speaking people of Persia / Iran, he announced the Persian language as official language of the country which was most unusual event in Iran up to then. In Iran for many centuries Persian language was the communication language among different sects and fractions of the population. Another important element was the religion of the Iranians who were fond of the cousin of the prophet Muhammad from very early days of accepting Islam. The Safavid by relying on these two elements succeeded to establish a centralized state that endured for 220 years, most of the period as the strongest nation among her neighbors.
