Vietnam - Absent Without Leave

In 1968 Sean Martin got drafted and ended up fighting for his life in a war he wanted nothing to do with. Conversely, his lifer Lieutenant wanted to be immersed in war more than anything. Sean was a flower-loving hippie in a uniform toting an automatic weapon. The Lieutenant was all about West Point, patriotism and being the best he could be. Both their lives changed in a single day when their unit was destroyed by the enemy in a fierce and deadly ambush. Under cover, but surrounded by an overwhelming enemy numbers, certain painful death was minutes away. They had a choice: get back into the battle with weapons blazing - a sure suicide run, or just run away. They chose the later. How? By foot. Where? West. How far? Europe. And now their adventure really begins. The two start their trek west, but in dogged pursuit is a tough and determined North Vietnamese Captain who must capture them 'or else' and will not quit until he's got them locked up in the Hanoi Hilton. Added to this is the FBI who know the men are AWOL and are tracking their every move ready to pounce. With total worldly posessions of tattered uniforms, M-16's and a bandolier of ammo, Sean and the Lieutenant. are forced to solve the non-stop problems encounted along their route: Vietnam to Laos, to Burma to India and on to Europe.
