Ulani and The Giant Carp

This is a children's book based on a boy named Ulani and a magic carp and the importance of family values. The story is ethnocentric to the Philippines but it's overall message transcends to all other cultures. The protagonist is a boy named Ulani who lives in fictionalized village in the Philippines who is learning about the the importance of socialization, friendships, living the benefits of the innocence of youth, and the importance of family. The carp symbolizes all aspects of humanity when it comes to compassion and the basic human desire to help someone be a better person in this Life. The inspiration of this book was from observing the innocence of adolescence and our role duties as adults to help culminate today's youths of their social obligation to be caring and righteous individuals in todays society.
