Engineer, Set Refueling Power: Engineer, Set Refueling Power

This is the memoir of an Air Force Navigator in SAC KC-97G Air Refueling Tankers on active duty, in C-124C Outsized Cargo Transports in the Air Force Reserve, in KC-97L Air Refueling Tankers in the Ohio Air National Guard, and in the C-123K Tactical Airlift Cargo Aircraft in the Air Force Reserve. He retired as a Lt. Colonel with an Aeronautical Rating of Senior Navigator. In between duty in the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, the author worked for Hamilton Standard as a Propeller Installation Engineer, where he was responsible for the 54H60 Propeller System on the C-130 and P3 aircraft, as well as some significant aircraft propeller retrofits. After four years in propellers, the author changed companies, and worked for GE Aircraft Engines both in Evendale, Ohio and Lynn, Massachusetts. He retired as a Senior Staff Engineer. The author discovered a latent interest in antique cars in the late 1970s. He purchased a rusted out hulk of a 1939 Ford Convertible Coupe, and restored the car with the help of his son, Scott, and a talented restoration expert. After retirement, he purchased a restored 1956 Oldsmobile Starfire, which he continues to enjoy to this day.
