He Who Would Come (The Wendel Wright Chronicles)

On his sixteenth birthday, Wendel is suddenly portaled away from his friends. Once he is alone, a golden-orange cocoon of light completely engulfs him. Just as the ancient records foretold; the year one fusion ritual, with the Mescalahem sun, has begun. He is nurtured, strengthened and taught throughout the ritual, which continues from one sunrise to the next. Once the ritual is complete, Wendel is surprised to see that his normally pale skin has turned a light shade of golden-orange, exactly like the Mescalahem sun. After returning to Sarah, Deadra and Nathan, Wendel begins to experiment with the awesome new powers he feels coursing through his veins. He can now control fire and lightning with a quick thought, and he realizes all of his powers are now greatly enhanced. Wendel also realizes he is finally gaining control over his burgeoning powers. He will need all of his new strength and powers, in the months ahead, as the looming forces of darkness gather to fight against Wendel and the Freedom Fighters. Wendel will have to battle against a deadly new menace; the ancient, evil one known as Culwhich. He is the fearsome legend, who controls the terrible dark arts powers of ancient days. He is well aware of the millennia old prophecies regarding the young boy who will come. Culwhich knows of the powers Wendel will one day control. He is determined to destroy the boy before he can fulfill his destiny and become the man who will be called Arithor.
