DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program Incorporating Change 3, January 24, 2012

This Manual is issued under the authority of DoD Directive 8570.1 “Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management,” August 15, 2004. It provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification, and management of the DoD workforce conducting Information Assurance (IA) functions in assigned duty positions. It also provides information and guidance on reporting metrics and the implementation schedule. This Manual applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities in the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as the “DoD Components”). This Manual is effective immediately and is mandatory for use by all the DoD Components.
