My Life on Two Continents

From the land of the Pharaohs to the land of freedom and progress, this book covers a period from the early 1930’s to 2012, a span of approximately 76 years. As a child, John survived the bombing of Alexandria, Egypt during World War II. He explored the El Alamein battlefield after the war and found rifle bullets, a German helmet and other war relics. His dream of becoming a ship’s captain was destroyed after his uncle, a commercial steam ship captain, was killed when his ship was torpedoed by a German submarine. At age 20 his parents sent him to the United States to complete his education at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Other adventures followed including a dangerous boat ride down the Colorado River and prospecting for Uranium in Moab, Utah. After graduating from college he married and set into motion the most exciting and longest adventure of his life when he started a paint and plastics research laboratory in South Florida.
