The local native tribe to the north admits that they killed all of the Englishmen and demand that the colony leaves America. The Roanoke settlement does not know what to do, they do not have enough food to last the trip back to Europe. They plant crops create a fort, and become friends with the natives to the south. The Roanoke colonists gather supplies to send a ship to England, with 10 people and barely enough food to keep them alive during the trip. As far as history goes, that is the last we ever hear of the more than 150 remaining colonist. A recent hurricane has uncovered a chest buried on the island, inside were diaries from villagers including one by Isabel a young intelligent Nobel. Isabel however learns that not all the natives are happy to see the colony. The Powhatan tribe to the north has eliminated an English outpost a year before, and they intend to strike again. There is only enough food to send one ship with 10 villagers back to England, a six month round trip. The Powhaten natives assess the Roanoke colony fort, it is breached but the farmers manage to battle the natives out of the fort. Isabel a natural leader attempts to take leadership but is imprisoned. The nobles flee on their boat towards England, leaving a power vacuum, Isabel assumes that role.
