Security and Intelligence Studies Journal: Volume 1 Number 1

The Security and Intelligence Studies Journal is the world's first undergraduate research publication specializing exclusively in the areas of intelligence, security, terrorism/counterterrorism, geopolitics, and international relations. It is published at King University in Tennessee, USA, under the auspices of the Office of Student Affairs and the King Institute for Security and Intelligence Studies. For its first issue, the SIS Journal has selected some of the finest undergraduate writing on the subject: "security challenges in the 21st century". This volume contains timely research and analysis on critical subjects, including: the Syrian Civil War; Islamic militancy in Nigeria; the Iranian nuclear program; the West African oil rush; the funding of international terrorism; the role of cultural intelligence in counterinsurgency; domestic terrorism policy in post-9/11 America; and the dangers posed by the fourth resurgence of the Ku Klux Klan. Undergraduate authors from a variety of disciplines explore these 21st-century security challenges and propose creative and innovative solutions, within the context of democratic political institutions.
