Pretend Perfect

“Being perfect was one thing. Pretending to be perfect was an entirely different evil. At least I wasn’t pretending to be someone I wasn’t.” 8th grader Edna has always been different. Not in an obvious way, but the more uncomfortable why-can’t-I-be-normal way. During her 8th grade year, many things start to change in her life, including her relationship with her perfect older sister Alice. Alice had it all; cheerleader status, blond ponytails, and boys who wanted to date her. Edna usually watched enviously from over the top of her book. But by the end of the year, their roles would be reversed. Would their relationship, and Edna’s life, ever be the same?
